Sorry for corrupting this sight by discussing politics but I have to get on Hillary

This is absurd. Hillary actually wants to bring some of her own supporters ,in the form of delegates, to the convention to "unify the party." Apparently, Hillary's idea of unifying the party is making, sure that she lets fellow Democrats know that she should have been the nominee not Obama. Hillary, you lost fair and square, if you have any true passion for Democrat ideals such as being pro-choice, being opposed to increased tax-cuts for the upper crust of society, and being a supporter of a worker's right to form unions to protect themselves against oppressive corporate gas-bags, then you should back down from this childish request and support the candidate who is aligned with you on important issues; instead of indirectly helping elect a curmudgeon who is pro-life and in bed with oil companies on off-shore drilling projects. Sorry, I will go back to my usual Yankee rants from now on.

i know, i fucking hate politicians who give tax breaks to people who make 65K and have three children. those "rich" motherfuckers should be paying through the nose. better yet, let's just keep importing gas from Suicidebomberistan and raise taxes on capital gains from 15 to 28%... at least then america will actually suck almost as much as obama says it does.

I like the passion, even though I totally disagree with you. Who is SuicideBomberistan btw, is he related to Senor bombsaway? Obama never said America sucks his wife said she wasn't proud of America under the last horrid 8 years of Bush's totalitarian regime. I also suspect I know who wrote this? Anyway, thanks for the comment

i figured i should put my name on this since you guessed correctly (i can read your mind obviously ;)... his wife actually said "for the first time in her adult life" she was proud to be an american. since she's 44-years-old, i'm guessing she wasn't just referring to the last 8 years. and obama himself told a 10-year-old last week that "America isn't what it once was." and he'd be right-- minorities (including himself) and women are afforded way more opportunities than they were just 10 short years ago. now is america perfect? absolutely not, but it's still the greatest fucking planet on the face of the earth, no matter how much people love to idealize european countries. has the bush presidency sucked? same answer on that one: unquestionably yes. but does that mean we should go in such a radical direction with obama? i don't think so. remember back in 2000 when mccain was lauded by the media for being such a moderate? wtf happened? last point though, and here's the question you have to answer: what exactly do you "disagree" with me on? See if I offered an opinion, then you could disagree with it. But if I give you FACTS-- like obama's tax plan calls for the repeal of bush's tax cuts for families who make 60K and have 3 children, or raising the capital gains tax from 15 to 28%, or the fact that he wants to keep importing gas from hostile enemies (hence the "-stan" at the end of "Suicidebomber"... you know, like "Pakistan")-- you can't "disagree" with them. Oh, what you're trying to say is "i think those are great ideas." run that by all the middle-class workers in the midwest with large families who have to drive their kids to and from school and practices and see what they have to say to you. it's easy to think obama's great when you don't have real-world concerns. which is exactly why obama's going to lose this november...

I have no personal issue with anything you said except for your last comment, "it's easy to support Obama when you have no real world concerns." Well my mom is a guidance counselor in a public high-school and I believe deeply in public school funding, and restoration and am against school vouchers as such. IN addition, my Mom is in a union at carle place high school on long island and therefore I will support the candidate who is more union friendly and more friendly to soley improving public schools instead of a candidate who, while concerned a about education, will not support teacher's unions and public schools quite to the extent that Obama will. Finally, I'd be okay with Bush's tax plan if he put a cap at say 150,000 a year for these tax breaks instead of giving tax breaks to people that clearly don't need them. In other words, if there was still a tax break for 65 k a year people but not for people who make upwards of 150,000 plus like my family who doesn't need a tax break.

well that's understandable, at least you have legit reasons for wanting the guy in office. more than i can say for pretty much 90% of the people i know who are voting for him, most of whom admit they know nothing about the candidates other than the fact that they don't like what bush has done the last 8 years/they feel guilty that they don't have any black friends so somehow this will even that out. I know that last thing sounds ludicrous, but believe me, I've heard it and was just as shocked when I did as you probably were when you read that.

btw, who would've thought that 8 years later, the common ground between liberals and conservatives would be a strong dislike for Bush?
